As we patiently wait get excited for The Muppets, out November 23, we can listen to Muppets: The Green Album, out today. This new collection of fan favorite Muppet songs covered by My Morning Jacket, Andrew Bird, Ok GO, Weezer, and more will bring together the sounds of today with the nostalgia of yesterday. The kids that grew up with The Muppets, like myself, are now adults that remember back on The Muppets as a gateway to music and comedic nuance. Especially noteworthy tracks include “Rainbow Connection” performed by Weezer and Hayley Williams of Paramore who trade verses in a beautiful rendition of this classic. One of my classic favorites, “Mahna Mahna,” performed by The Fray, really takes me back and sticks with the lighthearted, can’t-keep-yourself-from-dancing feeling the original always gave me.
Don’t stop there… get green with envy in the mood with these 12 limited-edition Muppet-themed nail colors from OPI. The collection will hit stores early November, just in time for you to nab a shade and wear it for the November 23 premiere of the movie. The range will take you into fall with classic and deep reds (think “Animal-istic” and “Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It!”), two metallic shades (“Warm & Fozzie”), and a ton of glittery polishes (including a rainbow glitter shade called ”Rainbow Connection”).
